Character History: Gale's Sad Story of Hubris HERE
Personality:
Gale is a puppy dog of a man who has done some pretty cruddy things in the name of Wizard Hubris™ and is now living with the Consequences of His Own Actions(also™) in a very uncomfortable way.
There are a few core tenants to his personality that rise up to the surface when you talk to Gale Dekarios in your party. The one that shines out first is his Respect for Human Life. To Gale, every life is unique and vital and if bloodshed can be avoided, it invariably should. He always gives positive reactions to when Tav uses 'Persuasion' or 'Intelligence' to forge a path forward, preferring to use his words to battle as opposed to his magic (though he will> bring all to bare if it is absolutely needed). He will almost always disapprove strongly if you fail (willfully and knowingly of the outcome) to aid someone who desires succor from potentially life threatening situations.
He also does not appreciate senseless violence or murder.
This does not mean that he is not fallible as there are a few times where he has jumped in without knowing the full story such as disapproving of Auntie Ethel's actions, because on surface? She looks like a kindly little old woman who runs a Teahouse in a Enchanted Forest. Afterwards, he admits that yes, he did jump the gun.. which leads in to his next trait.
Willingness to take Responsibility for his Actions. Gale knows that he should not have stolen what he did to ensure the continued favor of his Goddess!Girlfriend, but he did so anyways. He lives with that knowledge every day as it's in the form of a black void just over his heart called the Netherese Orb which is pretty much siphoning more energy from the Weave than Gale can keep up with. When he is given his duty from Elminster, he immediately intuited that it is his duty to take responsibility for it. Perhaps not the best thing to cave to a Goddesses demands so quickly-- but the Tadpole crew is working on that, and on him.
This however is a great segue into his Martyr Tendancies. For all that he does not want to hurt others, he (as Wizard!Jesus) is absolutely okay with putting his own life in danger so that others can/will survive; even if he has to take his recalcitrant self deep to the Underdark to set off his bomb, he will do it. He deserves this, don't worry, you guys-- Wizard!Jesus will die for your sins (and most importantly, his)
He is very Verbose and completely unable to paraphrase anything. It takes 5 words to say something? He's gonna use 15, as he needs to fully utilize descriptors and adjectives as well as go off on conjectures. It drives the party quite mad, if you can imagine that. (seriously, they are already sorta on high alert-- sometimes they are endeared by Gale Storytime Hour, other times annoyed. Depends on the time constraint)
Gale Dekarios is a Born Romantic whom I've pegged as Pan/Demi, it takes him a while to fall in love and even longer to become intimate. It is shared experiences, shared troubles, shared laughter that will pave the way up and to his heart-- and when he gives his heart, it is completely and irrevocably; he will paint you a Weave of Magic in the Sky, will write poetry about how your smile unleashes all the butterflies in his heart and will even give you the last biscuit in his treat tin IF IT MAKES YOU HAPPY. (he also got that cookie tin from the little old lady at the Grove, he charmed her with his ways, who says nice guys finish last?)
To summerize, when it comes down to is that he is a chaotic good wizard man who values kindness, beauty, art, knowledge and books; Also, he is trying his best.
Powers/Abilities:
Tadpole - This Tadpole acts conversely as 'Shenanigan Catalyst' and 'Get-Along Sweater' for all of the Companions. They can communicate telepathically as well as see into each other's minds (problematic for the hornier members of the party). Also, if you really want to sway some Absolute Cultists, the Tadpole lets you do it with a (2) Difficulty Check. Great stuff, Tadpoles (Eat more Tadpoles-- Gale Approves.)

Wizard - School of Evocation - As an Evocation Wizard, Gale has learned how to harness the very forces of nature, from flames to crackling fire, to piercing ice and all the way to static-charged lightning. However, he does have run of the mill spells of a utility nature, such as Mage Hand, Prestidigitation as well as Find Familiar.
Sage - As the Sage Background, he tends to gain inspiration from books, solving mysteries and talking with fellow minded magic users. Because he's a NERD.
Cursed - In order to survive this Netherese Orb in his chest, he is forced to eat the party's magical items. This is ridiculous and has made several people complain because now their magical artefact has spit on it. (ewww-- gross, Gale.)
